Erica Miller is an Australian artist celebrated for her expressive landscapes and evocative still life works.
Her landscapes capture the vast atmospheres of Australia, from serene stillness to dramatic weather, while her still life pieces reveal the unexpected beauty in the ordinary.
For Erica, both landscapes and still life serve as gateways to her creative process, shaped by a deep connection to place. Through her work, she explores the raw beauty of nature and the subtleties of everyday life, creating realistic yet emotive pieces that evoke a powerful sense of place and presence.
ARTIST STATEMENT
As a rugged shell offers its contrastingly delicate contents, "Au Naturel" prompts consideration of our natural world.
The universal language of culinary tradition is ethereal beauty. From rugged barriers to open dialogue, all is exposed within a backdrop of natural light.
The emphasis is on a simple oyster's rising place in improving social, trade, and ecological balance while enhancing water quality and protecting coastlines.
To err is human; to eat, divine.

'Promises' reflects a moment of hope in a world that often feels uncertain. Animated in a march through golden grass, an unmistakable belief in possibility is grounded, yet stepping forward. Inspired from my base and holding memories that still bring a quiet sense of awe, 'Promises' is dominated by an ever changing sky that manages to evolve, while ultimately remaining very much the same. In this piece, I wanted to explore the delicate dance of permanence and progress with a lasting message that shows even under shifting skies, brave hope can boast a youthful beauty in a timeless space to breathe

First impressions are so often linked to surface-level personal taste, rather than deeper reflection and rationale.
If we can see past shallow detail, and more broadly develop an appetite for natural and primal beauty, we can see that reflecting deeply and tasting less, actually brings a better flavour to life.
